Farmers Choice Sponsored the 2026 New Paltz Fireworks

The 2026 New Paltz Fireworks Celebration lit up the sky over the Ulster County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 4, and Farmers Choice was proud to be one of its sponsors. This is our thank-you to Local at Heart, which ran the night as a fundraiser for local food pantries, plus a few ways to keep the summer going.

Neighbors, visitors, kids on shoulders, and a show overhead that made the whole crowd look up at once. If you were out there on a blanket somewhere, you already know: it was the kind of night this valley does best.

A hometown night

New Paltz knows how to throw a Fourth. The 2026 New Paltz Fireworks Celebration brought the community together the way only a small-town fireworks night can, and the team at Local at Heart deserves real credit for making it happen. Gates opened at 5PM, and the evening built toward fireworks at dusk with food trucks, local musicians, a car show, and a kids' zone with a sensory-safe area.

The weather did not cooperate with every plan. The kids' crafts carried on indoors, and plenty of people stayed for the fireworks anyway, which says a lot about this town. The organizers thanked O'Connor and Partners for sponsoring the fireworks themselves, along with more than 50 business sponsors. From all of us at the farm stand: thank you to the organizers, the volunteers, and every neighbor who came out.

Why did Farmers Choice sponsor the New Paltz fireworks?

Farmers Choice is a Hudson Valley business first. Our New Paltz farm stand sits at the edge of a village that has welcomed us like a neighbor, and sponsoring the fireworks is one small way of saying it back. We came in as a Rocket Sponsor, and the whole event raised money for local food pantries. Local at Heart has spent more than ten years helping meet local food needs by supporting community pantries and neighbors facing food insecurity.

Cannabis dispensary like no other. That line is on our wall because it is the plan, and nights like the Fourth are what it looks like in practice.

Keep the summer going

The fireworks may be over, but the New Paltz summer is just warming up. A few of our favorite ways to spend the rest of it:

• Take a slow afternoon at Twin Star Orchards, the orchard and home of Brooklyn Cider House a couple of miles from our farm stand, where the wood-fired pizza oven and the live music carry the season.
• Walk or ride the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, 22 flat, car-free miles through farm country, free and open dawn to dusk, with the Rosendale Trestle waiting up the line.
• Make the classic loop through the Gunks, then cool down in the village with a cone from Main Street.

How do you order ahead on an event night in New Paltz?

Village nights like this one are the reason the barn keeps late hours. Farmers Choice New Paltz sits at 1 Old Route 299, right where Route 299 meets Thruway Exit 18, which puts it about two minutes off the highway and a few minutes from Water Street Market and the rail trail. The store is open 8AM to 10PM every day of the week, with about 35 parking spots on site and EV charging if the car needs it while you browse.

If you are coming in from out of town for an event, ordering ahead is the easy move. Browse the New Paltz menu, place the order, and pay at the counter when you collect it. Most orders are ready inside an hour, and a Farm Hand will have it bagged and waiting. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older, every visit, no medical card needed. Farmers Choice runs two farm stands, this one in New Paltz and the original in Fishkill at 18 Westage Drive in Dutchess County.
